Anything from your phone or a shared album. JPEG, HEIC and stills from Live Photos all work. Screenshots, receipts and blurry pocket shots are fine to include; the curation sets them aside. There is no minimum, but 200 photos or more gives the editor enough to build real chapters.
It scores every frame for sharpness, exposure, faces and repetition, then reads the time and location data to group days into chapters. It was trained on real photo books laid out by human editors, so it favours variety: a wide shot, a detail, a face, a meal. You see every pick in the proof and can override any of them.
