Photo books have a reputation for living in a drawer. Ours have a habit of living on the coffee table.
I have 2,300 photos from Japan and had opened maybe ten of them. Driftwood turned them into 96 pages my kids now fight over at bedtime.
It found the photo of my dad laughing on the ferry. I didn’t even remember taking it. That page alone was worth it.

No, and that’s the point. Upload the whole camera roll from the trip, blurry ones and all. Driftwood scores every frame for sharpness, light, faces, and how many times you shot the same thing, then keeps the strongest of each moment. You see its picks laid out as pages and can overrule any of them with a tap.
Your photos are encrypted in transit and at rest, are never used to train our models or anyone else’s, and are never shown to another customer. Thirty days after your book ships we delete the originals unless you ask us to keep a reprint copy. You can delete everything sooner from your account, any time.
Then change it. Every photo, caption, chapter title, and map label is editable in the proof. Swap a picture, rewrite a line in your own voice, or ask for a fresh draft of a page. Nothing goes to the press until you approve the proof, and there is no charge before that.
Uploading a typical trip takes a minute or two. The first draft is ready about four minutes later. Most people spend an evening tweaking it, though plenty approve on the spot. Printing and binding take three business days, then shipping is two to four days depending on where you are.
We print in Portland and Rotterdam and ship to 31 countries. Shipping is free on Journey and Odyssey. Weekend books ship for $6 in the US and EU and a little more elsewhere. Duties are prepaid, so there is nothing to settle at the door.
Yes. Every book stays reprintable for twelve months, and additional copies are 40% off. Grandparents are the usual reason. You can even change the cover text on a reprint, so a copy for someone else can carry their name.
Our books are sewn, not glued, so a spread opens completely flat without you holding it down. A panorama can run edge to edge across both pages with nothing lost in the gutter, and the binding doesn’t crack no matter how often it gets opened.
